Insect family
The Insect family (JP: ムシ類), previously referred to as Omnoms (JP: ガジガジ), are monsters in the series.
Omnoms are created from Level 2 Nutrient Blocks. They eat Mosses and are eaten by Lizardmen, Liliths, and other monsters.
Basic and Abnormal Breeds of Omnoms will metamorphise into pupae after consuming enough nutrients; in this state, they are defenceless. After a period of time, a Fly will hatch out from the pupa, where they become faster and multiply rapidly. Omnoms are among the only monster families in the game to reproduce with multiple monsters at a time, only matched by Liliths. Thus, a swarm of Omnoms makes for a good beginner's army, though it isn't very sustainable. In What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2 and No Heroes Allowed!, Adult Omnoms — normally Omnom Flies — can spawn Herculomnoms if they defeat a hero and gain 36NHA / WDIDTDTML2 or 24WDIDTDTML mana in the process.
Omnoms have among the most diverse mutations in the series. Abnormal Breeds such as the Poisomnom have exclusive access to the Poison status effect to give them potentially higher damage output, Giant Breeds abandon metamorphosis can cannibalise each other to grow in length and deal higher damage, and Rare Breeds abandon metamorphosis to get higher speed when healthy alongside camouflage. Buzzy Boozies — the Rare Breeds — are also among the easiest to get of their kind.
Being consumers of Mosses, Omnoms are voracious predators in the dungeon ecosystem and frequently seize control without Lizardmen active. In No Heroes Allowed! VR, they can even eat Spirits. Thus, in the hands of unprepared players, Omnoms will frequently cause ecosystems to collapse without them even knowing. However, on lower difficulty levels, it's possible to clear titles with solely upgraded Omnoms in strategies akin to the "Zerg rush" from the Starcraft series.
Insects are Level 2 blue monsters, and when combined on the puzzle table, they become Level 3 red monsters, such as Lizardmen. They frequently form the backbone of the puzzle series' more serious combos, allowing for high damage in quick succession.
In No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either!, with the introduction of Monster Mixing, Basic and Abnormal Breeds will become their adult forms upon reaching max level, skipping the pupal phase entirely. Additionally, the Leviathomnom, only obtainable via the Mine, has the highest Attack available, making it optimal for raw damage output. Abnormal Breeds also have unique access to the Poison ability, though the damage dealt is often not enough to justify use. Rare Breeds have access to the Nutritious ability.
In No Heroes Allowed! VR
Onnoms are significantly buffed in No Heroes Allowed! VR, now capable of eating Spirit family members in addition to Moss family members. Additionally, with the terrain changes, after an Omnom metamorphoses into a fly, it is capable of flying over water and crevices, making them highly efficient at swarming bases during Conquests alongside Lilith family members.

Trivia
- Omnoms have a history of naming crises in the Badman franchise;
- In What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!?, Omnom Flies were called Omnom Beetles, which was changed in the following title presumably due to the introduction of the Buzzy Boozy, an actual beetle.
- In What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!?, Killer Omnoms were called Poisomnoms, which was changed in the following title due to the introduction of the actual Poisomnom; this indirectly resulted in the complete renaming of the Killer Omnom Fly, previously called the Poisomnom Beetle.
- Additionally, in the English translation of No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either!, the Killer Omnom was erroneously called Captain Slimeblossom, while the Killer Omnom Fly was called the Killer Omnom.
- In What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2, Pure Omnoms were curiously named Pure Buzzy Boozies, after the Rare Breed of the family.
- In No Heroes Allowed! VR, the Rivaless Omnom was renamed Peerless Omnom, presumably due to Rivaless not being considered a real word in the English language, and being a more accurate translation of the word むそう musou.
- In the Chinese translations of the Badman franchise, Omnom Flies are dubbed 蝶 dié, which is a bound form of 蝴蝶 Húdié, the name for butterflies, and commonly used in translated names for butterfly monsters in other titles, such as Butterfree (巴大蝶 Bādàdié) in the Pokémon franchise.
