What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2 and related

Abnormal Breeds obtained through mutation tend to occur due to being preyed on by monsters higher in the food chain. For example, Paramerican Mosses will occur if Slimemosses are preyed upon by Omnoms too much. This can also occur with Lizardman Eggs, which are otherwise difficult to make mutate. This is among the easier mutations to exploit, as poking a predator with the God of Destruction's pickaxe can make them eat again, allowing for the conditions to be met quickly.

Abnormal Breeds have a wide variety of special abilities. For example, Poisomnoms inflict poison onto opposing heroes, and Siesta Lizards will yawn to put heroes to sleep. Because Abnormal Breeds have adapted to being preyed on, their effects will not only affect heroes, but monsters that prey on them as well. In the case of Poisomnoms, a Lizardman that eats them will sustain poison for a brief period, taking damage. Further, Abnormal Breeds typically have lower stats, making them more easily killed while dealing less damage than Basic Breeds. Abnormal Breeds are typically very fertile to offset these flaws, allowing one to populate the dungeon quickly and overwhelm heroes.

In No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either!, Abnormal Breeds exchange raw Attack power for special abilities. These include Paralysis, Poison, and Sleep. Out of all status effects, the only one possible to use in multiple slots is Sleep, using Dream Lilith and Siesta Lizard groups, which can be effective against powerful heroes that a horde can't beat with just combos.
