Like the heroes, the King rarely plays an active role in the Badman franchise, largely being background noise. However, being a protagonistic force, and aiming to thwart Badman, he does drive the plot.

In What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!?, the King plays a minor role, only being seen thrown out of his castle in a pool of blood once Badman conquers the world.

The first time the King is seen being an active force is in What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2, where upon being defeated in Industria, it's revealed him and the heroes had already devised a plan for if he were defeated. Here, a plane with a "Congratulations" banner was flown overhead before bombarding a defenceless Overlord Castle, leaving it wide open to conquest. Thereafter, the King and the heroes held dominion over Badman's domain, until it's reconquered in a stage of three bloody battles. During this, it's revealed that many heroes defending the occupied castle were ressurected, albeit with seemingly unusual qualities, such as with Rook's lost height and Silvia's shift in personality, implying they weren't quite ressurected properly. After a valiant battle, Badman retakes the castle and runs the King and Princess out of his turf; the King is soon killed by a Rivaless Omnom Fly dropping a Jumbomoss on his head.

In No Heroes Allowed!, the king plays a more similar role, retreating from his castle whenever Badman runs him out of heroes to assault the dungeon with. However, after Badman conquers Ludgala Tower, the king orders an air strike against Badman's army, with one bomb striking Badman almost directly and leaving him near death. He then settles in a new castle, Castle Noneim, calling upon successful heroes like Erika and Maxwell to defend it, but the success was short-lived, being beaten out by Badman yet again later on. After being deposed, he is seen roaming the wilderness with the Princess as Badman spreads his newfound influence.

In No Heroes Allowed! VR the King plays largely the same role, perched on the castle balcony alongside the Princess. At the end of a successful Conquest, the King will flee with the Princess, seemingly running inside the castle or possibly to the next castle that follows. Should the Conquest fail, the King and Princess will dance, cheer, and taunt the God of Destruction together with the remaining heroes on the board, as confetti rains upon the two. Outside of Conquests, the King appears in the Nethergarden.
