HP, also known as Vitality, is a measurement of a monster or hero's health.

Monsters

HP-Monster-NHAVR.png

A monster's HP serves as a sort of life clock, wearing down by 1 HP a second for as long as it exists; the only exception to this is the Channel Lilith, which drops by 6 a second. The only way to increase a monster's vitality is to gather nutrients or mana from soil (for Slimemosses and Spirits, respectively) or eat prey (eg. Omnoms and Lizardmen). The Skeleman family is designed around this, not having any way to eat while wandering around, having to kill heroes to upgrade and persist. Pure Breeds are similar, albeit designed to be weak and not eat at all.

Monsters may consume vitality to use certain skills. For example, the Abnormal Breeds of Lizardmen and Lilith families can deplete their vitality to use Lizard Lullaby and Lillaby, respectively, to inflict sleep on heroes. In doing so, they become much more vulnerable thereafter.

Heroes

A hero's vitality does not drain while they exist, only being drained by being attacked by monsters. At certain HP thresholds, they will use skills, drop Dragon Orbs, and, of course, die. They can also use Heal to restore their HP or steal it with Get HP, something monsters are incapable of doing.

In No Heroes Allowed! VR, structures like castles and villages also have HP, using the same symbol as heroes.

  • Curiously, despite being on Badman's side, his Tower is shown to have the same HP symbol as heroes.
