The Dragon Orb is an item first introduced in No Heroes Allowed!.

Overview

In No Heroes Allowed!

A Hero dropping his Dragon Orb as he perishes in No Heroes Allowed!.

Dragon Orbs are obtained through achieving special conditions when defeating certain Heroes in the Main Story or clearing Dungeon-a-Day missions. By collecting them, more pickaxe types can be obtained with unique skills, such as The Waterstarter. 44 are required to unlock everything.

Dragon Orbs must be collected quickly by poking them with the God of Destruction's pickaxe. This is because they can be eaten by some runeborn monsters or stolen by heroes entering Badman's dungeon, thereby forcing the player to replay the stages to collect the Dragon Orb again.

The editor who added this tag elaborates: Dragon Orb requirements

Dragon Orbs serve a similar purpose to their original incarnations in No Heroes Allowed!, only instead, they are used to unlock G.O.D Skills. They can be obtained from Rare Heroes and Treasure Chests. Unlike previous titles, there is no urgency to obtaining the Dragon Orbs; once they are found, they are automatically obtained.

These balls are big news, and if you see one lying around in a corridor, you should snap it up quick-smart before a pesky hero pinches it or a dragon or demon gobbles it up. There's one available in each stage of Story Mode, and if you collect enough of them, you'll be able to up your game by buying yourself a brand new pick or two.
