Items consist of any non-monster and non-hero entity that is left in Badman's dungeon and have been a staple in the Badman series. These can be left by monsters, heroes, or appear through other means. These vary drastically in usefulness to either party and must be accounted for during gameplay to succeed. Pickaxes are also considered to be items, and The People's Pick's Dungeonquake ability can erase almost all items currently in play.

Many items are left by monsters, usually when IQ is high. For example, Pheromone and Dragon Guano will paralyze heroes when stepped on and are left by Liliths and Dragons that have high nutrients. Some items, like Fluff, Fossils, Treasure Chests, and Corpses can spawn monsters; in fact, items are the consistent origin for members of the Skeleman family. Heroes will also leave items that benefit them, such as Save Flags. Monster Hunters use items a lot, leaving behind Outboxes, Barrel Bombs, Yummy Jerky, and Tasty Meat to thawert Badman's army.
