Spirit
Spirits (JP: エレメント) are the Level 1 Basic Breed of the Spirit family, introduced in What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!?.
In these titles, Spirits cannot attack heroes and are strictly mana distributors. It reproduces when it consumes enough mana to split in two, and can be used to power up runes or corpses to summon more powerful monsters. They can be upgraded into Ice Spirits with Dig Power.
In Yu-Nama: The Puzzle, the Spirit is featured on Stages 3, 4, 7, and 8.
In No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either!, the Spirit is made a 1☆ monster that can be upgraded into an Ice Spirit, Stunner, Big Spirit, or Beryllion.
In No Heroes Allowed! VR
Spirits were reworked to be able to attack heroes and spawn from Spirit Nests. With the removal of mana, they feed on Fiend Dew instead. Being capable of floating, they can scale walls, avoid slippery terrain, and cross rivers, making them excellent beneficiaries of a Demonic Charge. They can be upgraded into Ice Spirits with Upgrade Points.

- Taxonomy: Mana elemental
They inhale mana from the ground and spread it all over the place. It gets in your shoes and hair, which take forever to clean, afterwards. Like Slimemosses, they keep going straight until they hit a wall. They really need to pass a helmet law for these things.

What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2
A mana-type monster that springs froth from Level 1 Mana Blocks. Just like Slimemosses, it only travels straight until it hits a wall. Because of its simple behavior, it is usually used as a shortcut in making mana-rich dungeons. Because they have virtually no battle abilities, you should treat them as if they have no resisting force against heroes.

Elemental beings spawned when mana-rich soil is excavated. Similar to Slimemosses in that they will keep moving in the same direction until they hit a wall, they love nothing more than moving mana around in the dungeon, but are so weak that they're usually wiped out the second a hero shows up. Even with improved IQ, they still get wiped out all the time. Ah well.

Formerly gentle beings similar to will-o'-wisps, but they've taken a sterner demeanor since. (Don't ask.) Much like Slimemoss, Spirits are sustained by Fiend Dew. Differences in elevation pose little problem to them.

- Despite being based on No Heroes Allowed!, Yu-Nama: The Puzzle uses the purple-ish Spirit colouration from What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2.
- The same sprite is used in the "Consequence of Magic" trophy over a decade later, added to No Heroes Allowed!' in January 2023.
