Wakey Wakey (JP: 覚醒) is a hero skill introduced in No Heroes Allowed!. It is primarily used by Martial Artists. Its effectiveness is determined by the MP spent to use it.

Overview

When used, Wakey Wakey will drastically increase the stats of the user for a limited time. It can only be used if the hero's HP is at 50% or lower and when motivation is → or higher.

During Wakey Wakey, the user emanates a yellow aura and becomes nigh-unstoppable, dealing monumental damage, doubling their movement speed, and taking minimal damage themselves. This effect lasts for 22 actions—this includes moving, attacking, using skills, and more. After the effects have subsided, their attack and defensive stats will be halved, and their movement speed reduces by more than half.

The temporary boosts are determined by the MP spent and go as follows;

MP cost Attack/Defence/Magic Defence Multiplier Speed Multiplier
11 MP
22 MP
33 MP 16×

If consuming 33 MP, the user will spin around the map and can attack twice per action, except when Badman or Badmella is being dragged. In that case, they will simply move very quickly. Additionally, they can pass through monsters that aren't felled in one hit.

Counterplay to the skill is limited once active, though it does not prevent status ailments like sleep from affecting the hero, so Dream Liliths and Siesta Lizards can be effective stops. Defence boosts from Wookiemon and Idle Wookiemon do get factored into damage calculation as well, so these can potentially allow a monster to trade a hit while active. This is especially important if a Skeleman family member is available, as they can disable Wakey Wakey instantly. Generally though, having Lady family members in the dungeon to keep motivation low is the best countermeasure, ensuring they don't get motivated to use it in the first place.

Trivia

  • Unlike most damage-boosting effects, Wakey Wakey cannot stack with War Cry. Because Warriors are never seen with Martial Artists outside of Badman's Chamber, though, this discrepancy is rarely seen.
  • Wakey Wakey shares the same timer as sleep and being slowed down by Aquachnids, meaning that when sleep or the slowed-down status are inflicted on an affected hero, the effects will last much longer than usual.
