Frill Lizard
Frill Lizards (JP: エリマキおとこ) are the Level 1 Rare Breed of the Lizardman family, introduced in What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2. Like most Lizardmen, they make nests in 2x3 spaces and lay Frill Lizard Eggs. With enough IQ, they will make Totem Poles to electrocute heroes. Their unique ability is to paralyze heroes by stunning them with a bright light they emit from their frills in cardinal directions.
Frill Lizards are very weak offensively, possessing less attack than even Siesta Lizards. Being Lizardmen, they still hit hard and are the backbone of Badman's physical attacking force, but it still leaves a bit to be desired. Their special ability, however, is very enticing, stunning heroes who fail to approach diagonally before mauling them. This makes them excel greatly in tight corridors, leaving heroes with no way to avoid the flash.

This species was also extremely popular in the '80s. But because of their popularity, everyone was trying to catch this type of Lizard, so they are now on the verge of extinction.

- The Almanac entry in What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2 could be a reference to the mass exports of various reptiles during the 1980s-1990s for the pet trade, particularly the Frilled dragon (chlamydosaurus kingii) it's based on. However, despite the entry, the species has been categorised as Least Concern for decades, albeit with minor concerns about such use in the pet trade. In modern times, they are captive-bred.
