In the mainline series, Fungus appears when excess nutrients appears around the dungeon's air; this occurs when there isn't any soil for the nutrients to go in. They are worth 5 nutrients, which can be distributed by breaking them with the God of Destruction's pickaxe. They are eaten by nutrient-based monsters like Omnoms if there isn't anything else to eat, but Maras specifically eat them.

No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either!

As seen in No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either!, notably with a shadow backdrop.

Fungi act as Loot in No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either!, being used in mutation for upgrading monsters. It's generally worthless, being worth only 150 experience points. They can be obtained via Treasure Chests in the Mine, but almost impossible to find after clearing the game.
