Mandrakes (JP: マンドラゴラ) are plant monsters of the Mandrake family, introduced in No Heroes Allowed!.

In No Heroes Allowed!

They will sprout from a Corpse, beginning in a vulnerable sapling phase before becoming a Mandrake once 33 nutrients is reached. Adult Mandrakes feed on nutrients in a similar manner to a Slimeblossom. Mandrakes can walk on water freely and block magic attacks from Magicians like Giant Breeds. If they absorb a lot of nutrients, they will drop fruits called Mandragora, which will grow into new Mandrakes or serve as a generic food source for almost all monsters. They attack heroes with their roots from significant distances away, including through dungeon walls.

Growing a Mandrake can be complicated, as it requires the corpse and sapling alike to go unopposed for an extended period of time, as well as a significant amount of nutrients to be in the area. This can be managed by poking the corpse to turn it into a Skeleman temporarily, then allowing it to perish on its own in a more favourable position. Culling monsters with the God of Destruction's Pickaxe is also a viable solution to get more nutrients.

No Heroes Allowed!

MandrakeNHA.jpg

Corpse-born tree creatures that rise from their long-dead hosts muttering about how one day the God of Destruction will come and reawaken the master of Mandrakes. The fruit they bear will grow into more Mandrakes if left alone, but it's usually snapped up by monsters first, thanks to its healing abilities and the fact it can bring about the miracle of childbirth.
