The Swordsman (JP: けんし) is a hero occupation, introduced in What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!?, where they were referred to as other names, such as the Social Knight, Paladin, Holy Knight, and Dark Swordsman. Appearance-wise, they usually take that of a generic sword-wielding man. They tend to follow mundane stories alluding to franchises like Dragon Quest. Despite the name, women can also hold this class, thus being Swordswomen, most notably Silvia.

Gameplay

Swordsmen are seen in all areas of the Badman games, from the first stage to oftentimes the final boss. Their strength also varies widely: they can have anything from just Torches to a wide array of offensive magic. They move and attack with their swords quite quickly, allowing them to beat monsters that attack them head-on quickly, but may struggle against defensive monsters or those boosted by Demon family members. Additionally, in No Heroes Allowed!, they may get bogged down by attacks from Aquachnid family members.
