Sam, a Pirate boss seen in Yu-Nama: The Puzzle.

The Pirate (JP: かいぞく) is a hero occupation introduced in Yu-Nama: The Puzzle. They are depicted as one-eyed pirate captains, seemingly taking aesthetic inspiration from the Golden Age of Piracy.

Gameplay

Pirates are first introduced in Yu-Nama: The Puzzle, of which there are four: Julian, Phileas, Sam, and Huck. They only appear in the back half of the game, starting on Stage 6. Out of them all, only Sam is notable, being the boss of Stage 7.

In No Heroes Allowed: No Puzzles Either!, Pirates only appear as Super Rare Heroes. A Level 50+ Pirate is required to upgrade a Humanoid into a Supremanoid, the strongest azure tile monster in the game; outside of this, there is no utility. Due to this requirement, only Adi, Bruto, and Eric—3 out of the 9 in the game—serve a material purpose in Monster Mixing. Bruto is notably the final boss of Industria in What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2 and known to be a "terror to sailors" in his Almanac entry, implying that the class change was made for characterisation reasons.
